The Parklands at Floyds Fork

The Parklands is a systemic, world-class addition to Louisville’s parks system that, once completed, will include four major parks linked by a park drive, a first-rate urban trail system and a remarkable water trail, all tracing Floyds Fork, a classic Kentucky stream.

 

Waterfront Park and Big Four Bridge

Neighborhood: Ohio Riverfront

Gorgeous spot on the Ohio river, with the bridge spanning the distance between Indiana and Kentucky. With plenty of walking paths, greenery and activities, the park (and adjacent bridge) make this a memorable urban park.

 

Old Louisville

Cherokee Park

KFC Yum! Center

Opened in 2010, the Yum! Center is home to University of Louisville’s sports teams, as well as plenty of excellent concerts that find their way to Kentucky.

 

The Speed Art Museum

Referred to by locals as “The Speed, this is the oldest, largest, and foremost museum of art in the state.

 

Louisville Slugger Museum

Neighborhood: Downtown Louisville

A fun spot for the whole family. The Slugger Museum showcases the history of the Louisville Slugger baseball bat and baseball in general – you can even make your own customized bat.

 

Kentucky Center for Performing Arts

The Arts Center is home to three theaters, where musicals, plays, operas, concerts, dances, and other performing arts pieces are center stage year-round.

 

Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft

Known as “KMAC”, this museum celebrates the art and craft heritage of Kentucky.

 

Cave Hill Cemetery

Officially listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Cave Hill Cemetery is well over 100 years old and is comprised of almost 300 acres of burials. There are several scenic overlooks as well as intricate burial memorials. Open daily.

The lively, burgeoning East Market District of Louisville, short for “New Louisville”. Plenty of great local businesses, restaurants, and shops.

Frazier History Museum

This exquisite history museum has exhibits spread across 3 floors of space, totaling to almost 75,000 square feet of historical exhibitions. In addition to permanent exhibits, which focus on UK and United States arms/armor, the Frazier is also home to several traveling exhibits at any given time.

 

Kentucky Science Center
